vSIXとは / About vSIX

vSIXは, インターネットに関する産学協同のプロジェクトであるWIDE Projectのワーキンググループです． IPv6シングルスタック時代を見据え，IPv6-Onlyな実ネットワークを自分たちで運用することにより，インターネットにおける問題発見を可能とし，またその解決策を試してみることができます． インターネットに接続されるネットワークの多くが商用ネットワークによって運用されるようになった現在，ネットワーク研究者がネットワークの基本部分に触れながら将来のインターネットを支える技術を研究・開発することができる貴重な研究環境です．

“vSIX” is a working group of WIDE Project, which is an industry-university cooperative project on the Internet. In anticipation of the IPv6 single-stack era, vSIX enables us to discover problems in the Internet and to try to solve them by operating IPv6-only real networks by ourselves. As most of the networks connected to the Internet are now operated by commercial networks, the group provides a valuable research environment for network researchers to study and develop technologies that support the future Internet while experiencing the basic aspects of networks.

vSIXユーザとしての心構え / What vSIX users should know

vSIXは研究のための実験ネットワークを構築・運用しています．WIDEプロジェクトのメンバーを中心として，ボランティアでネットワークの管理を行っています． できる限り安定的に利用できるように管理されていますが，商用のネットワークのように24時間365日体制で管理者が運用しているものではありません． 不具合等を発見した場合は，実験ネットワークに参加するものとして当事者意識をもってvSIXプロジェクトと協力して不具合の解決を目指してください． また，vSIXのネットワークがおかしい・不便だと感じたらチャンスです． そこに将来のネットワークの基盤を作るための研究のネタがあります．ぜひ，世界に誇れるような素敵なネットワークをvSIXで実現していきましょう．

vSIX is an experimental network for research purposes. vSIX is managed by volunteers, mainly members of the WIDE project. The network is managed to be as stable as possible, but it is not operated by an administrator 24 hours a day, 7 days a week like a commercial network. If you find any problems, please be aware that you are a participant in the experimental network and cooperate with the vSIX project to solve the problems. If you find something wrong or inconvenient with the vSIX network, this is your chance. vSIXを活用する / When you want to use vSIX for your research

vSIXは研究のためのネットワークを構築・運用しています．vSIXを研究で使いたい場合は，大いに活用してください．ただし，WIDE Projectの多くのメンバーが研究のために一緒に使っているネットワークであることに留意してください． 著しくネットワークを不安定にするような行為や倫理にそむく行為は許されません． 新しい技術をvSIXで試したい場合は，十分に試験をしてから導入してください． もちろんvSIXの利用者であるvSIXプロジェクトも，明らかな瑕疵がない限り，他の人の研究を暖かくサポートします．

vSIX is a research network, and if you want to use vSIX for your research, you are welcome to do so. If you want to use vSIX for your research, you are welcome to do so, but please keep in mind that many members of the WIDE Project are using this network together for their research. Any significant network instability or unethical behavior will not be tolerated. If you wish to try out a new technology on vSIX, please make sure that it has been thoroughly tested before installing it. Of course, the vSIX Project, as a user of vSIX, warmly supports the work of others, as long as it is not obviously flawed.

vSIX利用ルール / Rules for using vSIX

vSIXの利用を希望する場合、必ずこのルールを遵守してください。

You must obey these rules if you wish to use vSIX.

vSIXのアカウント利用権限について / Restrictions to use vSIX account

以下の要項を満たす場合、このポリシーに同意し，所定の申し込みをすることでvSIXネットワークや各種サービス(vSIX Access Serviceなど)を使用する事ができます． 申込みについては問い合わせからご連絡ください．

  • WIDE Projcetに現在所属している者
  • その他，vSIXとの接続組織等で特別に許可を得た者

If you meet the following requirements, you can use the vSIX network and various services (vSIX Access Service, etc.) by agreeing to this policy and submitting the required application. Please contact us via contact to register.

  • You are a current member of the WIDE Projcet
  • Any other person who has received special permission from an organization connected to vSIX.

vSIXでのトラフィック収集・分析について / Traffic Collection and Analysis

vSIXオペレーターチームはプライバシーに十分配慮した上で運用や研究に必要なトラフィック収集を随時行っています． 現在収集中の情報の概要は内部ページにて公開しています．

With due consideration for privacy, the vSIX operator team will collect traffic as needed for operations and research. A summary of the information currently being collected is available on the internal page.

サービスレベル規約 / Service level agreement

vSIXプロジェクトではは出来る限り安定したサービスを皆様に提供できるように尽力していますが，不具合やメンテナンスのためサービスが停止したり，データが消失した場合，いかなる不都合・損害もvSIXプロジェクトは補償できません． そのため，vSIXでは利用者に一定のサービスレベルを約束していません． もちろん、精一杯のお手伝いはしますのでトラブルの際は相談して下さい．

The vSIX project tries to provide as stable a service as possible, but in the event of a service outage or data loss due to problems or maintenance, the vSIX project cannot compensate for any inconvenience or damage. For this reason, vSIX does not promise a certain level of service to its users. Of course, we will do our best to help you, so please contact us if you have any problems.

アカウントの停止 / Account suspension

この運用ポリシーにご同意いただけない場合,他のvSIX/インターネット利用者の迷惑になる行為を確認した場合はアカウント利用を予告なく停止します． また，以下のいずれかの項目に該当すると判断された者は，アカウント利用を予告なく停止します．

  • vSIXプロジェクトにおける機器や設備等を利用して不適切な行為を行なった場合
  • vSIXプロジェクトの名誉を毀損する行為を行なった場合
  • vSIXプロジェクトからの連絡に対し，応答が半年以上ない，または連絡先が利用不可な状態が半年以上継続している場合
  • その他，運営委員が本研究グループの会員として不適切だと判断した場合

アカウントの停止に関してご質問がある場合、vsix-contact"at"sfc.wide.ad.jpまでお問い合わせ下さい.

If you do not agree with this policy, or if we find that you are causing trouble for other vSIX/Internet users, we will suspend your account without notice. In addition, if any of the following items are found to apply to a user, the user’s account will be terminated without notice.

  • Inappropriate behavior using vSIX Project equipment or facilities.
  • If the user has committed an act that defames the vSIX Project.
  • If there is no response from the vSIX Project for more than six months, or if the contact information is unavailable for more than six months.
  • If the steering committee members deem you to be an inappropriate member of this research group.
